To 'The Top Consultant' (irony I hope),Do you really think that just because you purchased a computer from IBM in the 90s that all they do 15 years later is make PCs? Don't worry about the hugely successful areas in consulting and networks that they have.I bet you think Enron was just a utility company with a dodgy management that were lying to shareholders. Let's not look at the big picture that included exotic derivitives trading and shell companies purchasing options to boost the balance sheet.Let's just be stupid and assume BT isn't a shell company that includes BT Retail, BT Wholesale, BT Global Services and Openreach. Just because you buy your phone line from BT Retail, you're of the opinion that it's all they do. Do a little digging and you'll find that Global Services are the company doing the NHS Spine project. They sell networks and IT solutions with a presence in over 150 countries.I'd also like to point out a earlier post on what the term consultant means. BT don't claim to do full-on 'strategy' consulting, but if you want an IT strategy in a world where convergence is such a big thing, then who better to consult with you on that?Have you never heard of internal consulting? Are you really that naive or just saying things for the hell of it? I may go on a knitting forum and talk about something I have no idea about, i'm pretty sure that's where you came from. Post the link for me to annoy your friends on it?
