I am planing to go for a few interviews with some MC firms.I was planning on getting a new suit for the interviews because the suits I own now are pretty old.But I understand that I will be going for multiple rounds of interviews, if I wear the same suit again and again, will they notice, or will I be meeting different people at different times ?Thank you in advance for your 2 cents.

a) They probably won't noticeb) Even if they do, they won't care. After all, most people have a favourite/best/lucky suit that they'll wear to interviews.c) If you're looking to vary your dress, your shirt and tie are the best place to focus as you have more room for personalisation than you have with suits in the standard business shades. However, if you're going to be getting a few suits for whichever new job you go into, why not buy them now? That way, if you do want to rotate suits for different interview rounds, you can do.

Agree with anon. Chances are that you will be seen by different interviewers each time, so no one will notice. Nor will anyone care. Just make sure the suit is clean and neat, and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I'd like to know the answers to these questions too. Also what watch should I wear? And while we're at it, can anybody recommend the best haircut for consulting?

No suit bar an Oswald Boateng (Purple with red pin stripe ALWAYS works!)Buy the Audemars Piguet Millenary Maserati 90th Anniversarywear your wife's underwear...shows blue sky thinking Consultants love that!Far and away the best hair cut is sides Grade 4 and on top grade 0 or 1...For boys and girls....again its all about the 'blue sky'Ladies and Gents we are hired for our expertise...if we have to ask what suit to buy where we probably not smart enough to get up in the morning let alone advise others....Keep your suit well pressed...not shiny.. stay away from suits made from Crocodile skin and it will be happy daysIts about how you speak not always the candidate that wears the Kenzo/RL etc suit that makes the mark....Trust me I interview for my firm and its true...btw the guy with the Audemars Watch got through....Its 12:23AM

Take the money for two suits, and buy one very good one, in a dark colour like charcoal or navy.Change your interview appearance by accessorising with different shirt / tie combos.

To the people who keep on wheeling out the same comments about what haircut, what side of the bed to get up on etc etc... get over yourselves.Whilst you maybe the confident consultant with career, charisma, charm and wit, a 19-20 year old kid doesn't have your attributes. Answers to niggling questions like these can boost confidence a lot, making them feel comfirtable with how they dress and look. We know it doesn't matter... so tell them that. Don't be patronising with the sly and 'hilarious' comments, they're not necessary.

Ok lets put this one to bed with some sense. Buy 1 suit, the best you can afford, preferably a 150 grade wool, in charcoal or navy, perhaps a pinstripe if you like (in which case the wider the better upto 1 inch). I'll say it again - buy the best you can afford. Then look after it. You can vary ties, shirts, cufflinks if you want, although for interviews I would always advocate a clean white shirt, even buying a cheapish new one for each interview to ensure it is immaculate. Finally, black shoes either brogue or oxfords, leather soles (no rubber soles please). Dar tie - should always be darker than your short incidentally, and preferably plain, any colour you like. Pink ties look great with a navy suit. Last thing - the suit won't get you the job anymore than your CV will. The CV got you the interview, the suit will get you past the first 30 second evaluation of whether you 'fit' as a consultant. i.e. look smart, make the effort etc, "one of us" cultural nonsense. Now concentrate on the interview for the job you want and stop worrying about your suit - leave that to used car salesmen.Done.
