As I've got some insight in how the specialist career track works in some consulting firms but not in any of the Big 4's, I was wondering if some of you could shed some light on how it works in practice and how it is perceived. Is this still a landing spot for people who fail to climb the corporate ladder any further following the normal career path, a dead end where one can stay put, or has it evolved into a worthwhile alternative for people who are more interested in a stronger content role rather than purely commercial activities?
