Hi all, Love this forum; so much great information, so thanks to all. I can't believe I did know about this before. I hope to be able to contribute now I do! I have been working at LEK for almost 18 months and now am considering my exit options. I have been approached by a recruitment agency that says that Javelin Group are currently hiring at my level. I've always been interested in Javelin, predominently as I want to end up working in the retail sector and they specialise in that and e-commerce but I was wondering if any one had any thoughts on: 1) Pros/ cons of Javelin Group in general, and in particular how good the exit options are2) Whether it is too early for me to move (i.e. if it would be better to stay at LEK for a bit longer before looking elsewhere)? I know a lot of people say yo should do two years and I would if I was looking into going into industry, but I feel this advice is less valid if you are moving to a different consultancy. Thanks in advance for any help on this!

Good firm. Very well respected in the Retail Strategy space. Good (diverse) retail clients too. Can't really go wrong, wish I was representing you! :) Good luck!

Highly regarded in what they do, and they typically look for strat house experience in their hires which underlines that point. The thing with LEK - and dont get me wrong they are a great brand on your CV - is that until you really reach seniority there you will only ever be a worker bee. And exit options, although very good, tend to all look a bit like well... LEK. Javelin will certainly fill in the gaps ie execution not just strategy.

I've also had an approach re: Javelin. I'm worried that - if I went ahead - by the time I joined I'd have been in my current job less than a year. Then again, I enjoy retail and the role is a significant step up. What do people think? Will it count against me later to have moved on too soon?

Thanks very much for this info; it's very useful. great to hear it from someone with experience in the recruiting industry as well as I'm sure you know your stuff. As someone with experience in this field, do you think there would be any downsides to me making a move to Javelin this early in my career, or to put it another way, any advantage to looking to stay where I am for a bit longer and then move (hoping they are hiring!) a bit further down the line? One of my concerns would be that I was specializing too early....
