I work for Capgemini at graduate (C1) level, started about 14 months ago. Just got my salary details for next year - 2.2k up on 31.0k last year = 33.2k. This is with an "above expectation rating", or 2 - and I believe payrises are pro-rated on salary. Furthermore, new C1s now start on 32.5k. Should I be worried? Any other CG CDC'ers in the same position/disappointed?

I work there as well and got a bad payrise even though I got a "1". Very frustrating....Sounds bad that new entrants are on more than you though!

yeah, that salary letters was a nice Xmas present! Not! Hey, at least there was the whopping Xmas bonus to make up things! [Sarcasim...] Well, depsite stellar feedback from clients, peers, superiors across the business, i got sweet FA. It's a good job that I've got a few irons in the fire. The salary letter, has now definently made up my mind to jump ship and say adios as soon as I engineer an appropriate exit strategy.

Guys! Stop your public whinging! Personally I was well chuffed with the unexpected xmas bonus - I know the tax man and student loan company ate into it but you didn't get it last year and it was certainly a welcome surprise xmas present. And as for pay rises - i wasn't led to expect any pay rises whilst on the CDC and believe that all CDCers would be on the same salary regardless of calibration. I'm therefore very happy that i'm better off then I thought I would be. But to those of you who are planning on jumping ship good luck to you - I personally love my job and think the CDC is ace!!

Optimist, I'm glad that someone is happy. But as a C1, you're ptobably quite young and apologies, but a bit niave. You'll learn, trust me. A disgruntled C4...

As a CDCer too I was surprised with the payrise but think it has nothing to do with performance, we're all paid a flat rate as a C1 and graduate to the same as a C2 (that's what i've been told anyway)I'd be interested to know the salary bands for home grown, internally promoted C2s and C3s as well (see thread 22228). As for long term prospects, it all depends if CC kicks off along the lines preached from the bridge. If the leadership proves to be incompetent and we don't have the right people selling the right sort of work, I'll be off in flash!Happy NY!

The Optimist,I agree with practically everything you say and I am in the same mindset (optimistic and happy) as you.The only thing shaking at present is the hypothesis that we are all on the same until C2.My pay rise (salary and benefit) was 2K. Not 2.2K. So it appears to be less than Tom's but I was on a "Meet Expectation". His 2.2K even appears to be an increase on his salary only.I am begining to believe we are not being paid the same or am I wrong?

According to the letter I was sent the new CDC salary (INCLUDING flex benefits) is a nice round 35k (I got a 2 as well)... I'd have to check the letter to confirm the exact pay rise but i was led to believe we're all on the same. I'd be interested to hear if this differs from others (and if you're a stig, mig or newbie)

The Optimist,Mine is £34.5K. When you said you got a 2 as well, did you mean a rating "2" or 2K?I know the Sep 06 intake joined on a higher package than us. I think their package was £33.1K whilst we were still on a £32.5K package.

Newbies get £32.5. I am surprised that there is a difference between CDCers but at least that might mean I get a pay rise next year!On another note - I absolutely love the CDC, getting great experience so am not really bothered about any pay rises whilst in the CDC at all.

Newbie,Are you a Sep 06 intake?I am pretty sure this intake got a £33.1K package.I am enjoying my time in Cap as well. And speaking to my friends in different conpanies/industries, they themselves will agree the atmosphere is one of the best to work in.

There are inevitbably going to be slight differences in salaries for the CDC'ers. Not only in terms of experience in CG, but also experience as a whole. Let's not forget that although many join the CDC straight from University, there are others who have quite a bit of experinece behind them outside Consulting. As such there will inevitabaly be differences. As I said to a previous poster, don't be so niave.

Go fish, Sorry but all CDCers are paid flat rate and calibration means nothing. No bonus either! However, the promotion to C2 is where differentials can be achieved I believe (derived from C1 performance). CDCers join the company at possibly differnet rates per intake but are standardised at convenient times of the year (ie year end or financial year end).More interesting perhaps is the salary of C4s and above. Does anyone have a view?

Well, I'm not actively involved with the CDC, but the posts here seem to say otherwise. In terms of your question about C4 salaries, well, all in, I'm on just over 100K.

Seeing as many of us we were (rightly or wrongly) given the impression we were all in exactly the same boat whilst on the CDC (ie. start on the same salary, with the same pay rises and promoted to C2 on the same salary) I think it is necessary to clarify what the current policies regarding salaries are so we all know what to expect. I will be asking CDC management about this as soon as I’m back at work and push for some DL-CDC comms. Hope you all had a great xmas and new year and I'm sure I'll see many of you in the Slug on Friday! :)

Hi Go Fish,I am quite surprised at you complaints about your salary.Over 100K salary (I take it it excludes the flex and bonus) at C4 level is far more than I expected for this level in Cap.Or am I being naive? How many years experience do you have, if I may ask?

Nope, that's everything. Including the Flex uplift and the target bonus. If that was my reference salary, then that would be a different story! I have just under 10 years experience.

All,Appreciate that you are talking about 'rubbish' payrises but these are well over double inflation and try asking, as a percentage, what your more senior colleagues received. I'll bet that it wasn't over 7%.!!!

What the beef with the pay the real concern for 2007 is with the quality of bean in the coffee machine. I have my doubts that its Columbian, tastes more like El Salvador to me. Frankly not good enough. Also why can you not get a full cup out of the water machine. I will tender my resignation shortly.

My real bone of contention in '07 are the variety of those little toffee sweets at the Cap reception. Last time I went past there were no blues, which I love, yet numerous reds, which I hate. If this trend does not cease I too will be looking for an appropiate exit strategy.

Appreciate that it's easy to obsess about the salary and the shortterm, but get over the 1, 2, 3 K rises now and think about what prospects your CV will give you in 4 maybe 6 years, that is what the CDC is really paying out. Good experience and an CV that says you earned growing responsibility with one respected employer will be worth 10s (of thousands) a little way do the line. Have a look at some of the adds in the upper salary brackets on this site, and see how over the next few the CDC will push you in the right direction.
