Think it runs something like this:Analyst £31,000Consultant £35,000-£45000Senior Consultant £53,000-£60,000Manager - this is where I really start guessing £65,000-£75,000Partner £120,000-£1,400,000 or indeed more

Uncle deloitte has a well deserved reputation for light paycheques, which is why their churn is about 20%.The salaries are broadly in line with what DCF says, in addition to that be aware that only SC and above are eligible for bonus, and even then it's only if you get an Exceeding Expectations year end appraisal, which obviously only a minority get. In addition, in 2004 they extended the average stay at Consultant from 2 to 3 years so again Consultants lose out. There's alot of window dressing about looking out for people, but what you've gotta grasp is that the partners only give a toss about their own paycheques and stiff everyone else, "Partnership Value" as it's called. After 3 years I quit because besides getting a raw deal, the guys 2,3 years ahead of me were also fed up with being overworked and underpaid. I joined a smaller, more entrepreneurial firm and I haven't looked back.

Newly promoted consultants got £38k base this year, + £540 benefits allowance. No bonus. The consultant base salary range is £38k-£45kNew SCs got £45k base + approx £5k benefits allowance. Bonus £1k-£5k. Don't know how high the SC base goes, would be very surprised if it was much over £50-£55k.

Aren't these bands well below what the accountants will get at Deloitte (audit and advisory!?) I was under the impression consultants followed pretty much the same path? Does anyone have a view? Thanks in advance

D...T? A&A? or CF?

I'm in one of the other service lines and had assumed the salaries were the same. If the above figures are correct, then you're right as I'm the same grade as a Consultant but within the range and above the starting quoted for SCs for base.Bonuses higher too...

Partners in Deloitte Consulting start on circa £700,000. Other than that all grades below get stiffed. Even Directors are on £120,000.

I happen to know that an M1 in Deloitte Consultant makes more than their equivalent in Audit so I am not sure how the chap in CF is earning more. Perhaps the chap in CF can tell us his grade and pay.

Th much-bandied £700k Deloitte figure is the AVERAGE. Senior partners will be on a multiple of that, and new partners on much less, perhaps £200k.

Partners do not jump to 600k - they start lower circa 200k and work there way up.. They are graded much like the rest of the firm..

Does anyone know if your end of year grade determines the level you go in at pay wise when promoted? e.g. - I get a 5 and am promoted to SC. Do I start above £49k - or does previous pay determine it e.g. - only in middle of C pay bracket?

Prev. pay influences as overall it's designed as a continuous salary scale across the C/SC bands.

Is that different for analysts? When i was promoted from A->C with a grade 5 I went in at 41k rather than 39k due to grade.. So it sounds like however well i do at end of year this time round i'll start SC at lowest point (since it is still 5k more than i am on now).

M1 band has changed - new promotes in June went up on £37.5(ish), the end of year round just gone looked like this: 3a = 0% increase 4 = 5% increase5 = 6.5% increase Bonus pot was at £800 for 3a and my understanding is about £1200 for 5s.

thats pretty good pay for a senior manager by big 4 standards. how long are you expected to be a SM before you go for director?what sort of figures do you need to pull in as a SM before you can be promoted to Director?Whats the typical timescale it takes to get from SM to Dir?And, how are SM bonuses calculated? i heard deloitte keep the actual percentage quite hush-hush - does it vary a lot from person to person and year to year?super thanks for any input!
