I cant seem to find much of any recruiters that specialise in exec search for consultants in the USA. I am bewildered - Just looking at the jop opps page for the UK, there is an overwhelming abbundance of competitor search firms. Why none for the US?Am i just looking in the wrong place? Surely the market there must be far greater! Or perhaps have I just completely lost my marbles? ;)

Perhaps the recruiters are focussed on tighter geographical markets than the whole U.S.In the UK, recruiters can just have one London office and claim to be national because:a) 99% of the consultancies are based in the South Eastb) it's possible to get to London and back in a day for most candidatesc) the UK is regulated as one labour market so a firm doesn't have to worry about customising its processes for each assignmentI don't believe the same factors hold true in the US. You may have more luck searching for New York executive search firms, or Bay Area firms, etc.

The recruiters in the UK seem to be hiding in the switchboard of my employer, because all I seem to do, on certain days, is field calls from Tarquin or Gemima who has this "amaaaaaaaaazing opportunity that would just suit you right down to the ground". Makes me want to scream ......
