Others may have a different approach, but my external CV includes my employers, education, etc in the main body. I then attach a page entitled 'project experience' with a one-paragraph summary of each of the major projects I've worked on.That enables you to keep a high-level CV for some purposes but include the project experience where relevant. In my experience, the project experience page is the one that is most helpful for understanding someone's skillset. Nearly every consultancy I've worked for/with has standard corporate CVs - and these always contain project experience. If it's important once you're on the team, you can be sure it's important if you're trying to get on the team!
