Hoping to pick your collective brains for a few tips on getting my first gradaute job.Key attributes: 3.7 GPA Economics degree from Glasgow University, UK. Full US citizenship despite British born and raised. Work experience with a boutique investment house. Elected President of my student union at university therefore 1 year as head of an organization with annual turnover of more than $4 million. In short I feel like I'm a well qualified graduate but I need to get my foot into the consulting industry and learn some business world skills.Despite having (i think) a strong graduate resume I'm finding no success by applying online for Analyst roles whether they're posted jobs or applied for thru the company's own website. Am trying to work the few contacts I have (hard as neither me nor my family grew up here) but they are limited. This week I was even thinking about putting on my best suit and knocking on some doors with my resume. At 6'5'' and with a British accent they should remember me at least. At worst am hoping someone might take a couple of minutes to give me some advice. Any suggestions on how I can get my foot in the door with a good consultancy?
