Hi,I would like to break into consulting, but would appreciate your advice.I have a PhD in life sciences and have worked for several years in various biotech companies. I am due to finish my MBA in a few months and am keen to move into consulting. Now my question is: how important is it to apply for exactly the correct job within a firm i.e. I have seen some positions on a firms website that I could apply - some, I guess, I'm more suited to than others. When I apply will my CV get passed around the HR dept and someone says "maybe this guy would be better here" or is it chucked if it doesn't meet the exact requirements of a particular post? Basically is submitting your cv a way of getting your foot in the door, or do you have to hit your target first time. Thanks in advance....
