What's the reputation of this firm, I'm aware of having seen the name, but that's about it.From reviewing the website (http://www.managementconsultancy.mottmac.com/) it appears to be a firm which has moved into the MC market from construction.I'd be grateful for any thoughts on them.

Think it is an energy consultancy firm. Not sure if they have an MC wing....Used to have some association with Alsthom & GEC (erstwhile English Electicals).

I believe that they are involved in MC services, PFI advisory services and govn't services. Good mix and sounds interesting if you want a diverse workload.

Mott Macdonald is a consulting engineer which has a management consulting arm / sideline.The attraction for them is obvious as the fees are higher. Quite how seriously they are taken by clients and whether they are able to shake off the engineering image I do not know.What I do know is that we (large, decent firm that doesn't begin with M or B) have never been up against them when submitting proposals and that in engineering they pay badly. They also operate out of rather "retro" offices in Croydon.

Mott Macdonald are not a credible MC. They don't appear on any competitor Analysis with the top 10/15 firms, employ people with virtually no experience without even putting them through an interview and work in Croydon.They also wear white flowers at recruitment fairs. Ill judged.

Not top tier by any stretch of the imagination, but they have some very bright people working for them. Most clients in the engineering, construction, PS, transport, infrastructure fields.

If they were *that* bright wouldn't they go and work somewhere else?Or is there something else that compensates?

They accept really bright people with 3rd class degrees from Nottingham Trent.
