Hi,I am applying to Capgemini (Strategy and A&D) and one question is how much do I expect to get in bonus. In my current job (consulting 2+ years experience) there is no bonus scheme, so I have no idea on what to quote. Your help will be much appreciated.

Assumption is that you're coming in at either an Associate Consultant or Consultant level. If so, don't expect more anything more than a very small token gesture, if anything at all. Personally, I'd look elsewhere, then again I am biased, since I'm leaving and to be honest, I'm very glad that I am. At times, I think the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing!

Thanks for your views, your honesty is much appreciated. I have heard mixed comments on this firm. Most of all, I hope I am making the right move to a professional environment (although problems will always exist).

Grim times ahead

The consulting arm has recently tried to reinvent itself, but its the same old story as before. Reliance on a small number of large government projects. Not something to get too excited about. As a result a number of key VP's who were key to the consulting arm defected and left for pastures new. There are a lot of of unhappy people, as the response above testifies to and I include myself in this category who are currently looking for an exit strategy.

Key VP's?They are so "key" that is why, as you claim, Cap 'is' relying "on a small number of large government projects".So if they were so key, and as VPs they should be the sellers, why couldn't they bring in contracts that is non-large government projects?Very happy to be in Cap!

Many thanks for the different views. Since we have a few people form within the organization, I would like to ask something about a specific role in Cap: the Strategy and A&D. Something that caught my eye from its job description is the "Strategic Research Group". What type of research is carried out here? is it operations-research (i.e. modelling)? Something I am looking for in my next career step is to be able to combine my consulting experience with strong research skills attained through my PhD studies. Am I hitting the right target in Cap?Many thanks in advance!

We are quite an open organisation. I'm sure if you appraoch HR or the group directly, they'll be able to clarify the situation.

The Strategic Research Group (SRG) is a dedicated team of consultants available to conduct strategic analysis on companies, markets and industries either for external clients or to support business development.Unfortunately, usually only graduate intakes (Associate Consultants) are accepted as SRG analysts. So due to your likely grade as Consultant, you can only get involved with this elite group as a Coach (normally a Snr Consultant) managing the day to day activities of analysts or as the Manager (normally a Managing Consultant) who leads the entire department.

Hi, I'm in the latter stages of the recruitment process. I am getting mixed signals from a number of people both in Cap and in the industry itself with regards to whether this is a good place to move to, in order to further my career. I'd appreciate any candid comments. Thanks.
