Hi there I was wondering whether someone could give me a ball park figure for base and bonus compensation for CA's and C. In addition does this vary much between practices, and if so what is the deviation? Many thanks

Junior CBands aren't published. As at all consultancies as a C can be a new promotion from internal CA (grad c 2 years out) working in government or someone from banking with 5 years experience but no MBA or consulting experience (thinking of 2 real Cs in PA)

Depends on your practice - SMP will pay a lot more than Projects for example.Which practice do you want to look at ??In BOP Cs would typically bring in early 50s, plus 15-20% bonus. New hires are paid more than "home growns"

CA in SMP would make £35k-£45k I'd say, tho possibly more if you join from elsewhere. Bonus of between £4k and £8k. C level is probably another £10k on base salary and more bonus potential (my highest was about £16k). Real uplift in salary come at Principal Consultant level.

Kev, thanks for this. The band 35-45 k seems quite large. You state those joining may come in on a higher salary. Do you know if those that get promoted not just in SMP or PA in general but in the industry get any pay backdated at all

A CA band will include people who've maybe been promoted early from graduate level up to those who come in as senior CA's with e.g. PhD or such like and are close to moving to the next level. Not sure what you mean by backdated (do you mean do you get some sort of probationary period where if you get promoted you get back pay?), in any case if I've never heard of it so it very likely doesn't exist.

Do any of you with SMP experience know how much time is typically spent out of London (i.e. living in a hotel)? Thanks.

CA in ITI would be on £40-£60K pa. pretty wide and depending on experience. the lower end wouldbe what a grad promoted from analyst would be on.breakdown something like:salary - 28 - 40Kcar 3Kbonus 7K - 15Kextras ~£1k / £2kcompensation goes up significantly when you get to principal level.
