Much of the advice on this board given to people coming from research/ academia is that they should get some freelance experience if they want to break into consultancy. However, on a few posts the secrets as to how you actually go about this are fiercely guarded. This is understandable - there’s a lot of work involved in getting started. But does it really need to be so secretive? Most other issues are very well covered. Can anyone provide some sort of starting place for those of us looking for this kind of experience? Surely some help will stop people from asking again? C'mon just a couple of pointers....?
