Have you considered registering for their career evening? They should address some of your questions at the event. You can register here: http://www.top-consultant.com/UK/events/Article_display.asp?ID=136

Ive been with EDS Consulting Services for over a year now, and am very impressed with salary, scope of work, and training. They are making a real effort to train the staff (and recruit) to become a very efficient consultancy arm.The only disadvantage is that we only offer services to existing outsourcing clients. Howver, this may be changing soon...

Thanks Bill. Are you in Technology or Business side of Consulting Services? What grade/salary are you if you don't mind me asking? You say they only offer services to exisiting outsourcing clients. Do they not get involved in business development / proposition creation to new clients? I'm more interested in up-front consulting than delivery work (been there - done that).Cheers.

The UK redundancies are purely within the outsourcing part of the business and does not cover CS.These redundancies were all part of agreements with the outsourcing clients that we would trim certain areas of the 'tupe'd' business."You say they only offer services to exisiting outsourcing clients. Do they not get involved in business development / proposition creation to new clients?"Business development for new clients is normally handled by either the more senior managers (again, with exisiting EDS clients), or by a dedicated sales unit which is not part of CS. CS simply add thier expertise in the approriate areas of proposals, and raraly see any commision. But as I said, there areplans affot to change this to make sales/busdev part of the consultants role.
