Just want to know what qualification would be best for a career as an OD consultant/specialist. Doing an MSc(HRM) or an MBA?Thanks.

forgot to say, the mba is a generalist mba.

Rather do an MBA.It will give you a generalist perspective of business. You should strive to do this at a university with a good brand. It's all about hype and impression management. If you are from UK/EU then you can take liberties and do any degree discipline. Its permissible here. If you are from a continent which is not politically correct,tough luck even a first class MBA from Harvard or INSEAD will not gurantee you a job.

I think an MBA with a diss on OD would be the preference. However, good universities charge big bucks for this whereas an MA/MSc from a top tier is less than £10k. If you're self funded, this might be an issue. I am in OD/Change and have an MSc in Org Psych. However, backgrounds of my colleagues are mixed.
