Hi all, As i'll be joining ACN as an experienced hire this week (consulting) i wanted to find out some of the things to expect over the first few days/weeks. Some of my questions include but are not limited to: 1) Dress code included in my induction reporting instructions says "Business Casual". I don't want to be under-dressed or overdressed. Suit; no tie? or smart shirt and pants? Dress code outside induction any different?2) Getting on a project; what are the tips and must knows to landing a decent project or better put one you have the choice to pick? What's the flexibility around picking one or being picked for one?3) What's the concept around training for experienced hires? Are there mandatory training courses that would already be laid out as an experienced hire consultant or is this something i have to figure out on my own? Any information will be very useful.K.

What's the flexibility around picking one or being picked for one? There's lots of demand in most areas so you should be ok - don't be bullied into the first role. If I were you I'd go to one of the biggest account in your industry as you'll meet the most people and get better visibility of your next role.3) What's the concept around training for experienced hires? Are there mandatory training courses that would already be laid out as an experienced hire consultant or is this something i have to figure out on my own?Forget training for the minute, you'll have some slotted in anyway e.g. induction and level milestone. I'd get to know the operating model by doing your job for a bit prior to going to a consulting school (mandatory training at each level) as this way you'll get more out of it.

Agree with Bartlet. You can choose as long as the one you want is chargeable. What industry or technology are you aligned to?
Agree with Bartlet. You can choose as long as the one you want is chargeable. What industry or technology are you aligned to?
Very valuable information @PresidentBartlet @AgentSmith. I'm coming from the telecoms industry as a Solution Architect and have been brought into ACN as a Business & Systems Integration Consultant (Specific role applied to at ACN was Telecommunications Solution Architect)

Is it the company I've just switched away from for my mobile phone contract because their reception is so bad and the self-service on their website is dreadful? If so then there must be lots of opportunity for consultancy there

I'm very familiar with the Big V as a customer/client actually. Proud to actually say if you are a customer of theirs and you have a voicemail service, i was a major player in recently replacing the old system with something more "Jazzy" (not like an end user will really notice); long ass project that took 3 years mostly cus the big V kept wanting more and demanding the impossible but we eventually got it all done. I will defo go with your recommendation @agentsmithThanks a lot for your advices guys @agentsmith & @Presidentbartlet. Fingers crossed i land something interesting :)

Im located outside UK, how would they conduct tht round ( i guess video ? )* They hv mentioned sal range 43k-55k , what do you suggest about negotiation ? wht should i expect , aprox wht kind of signing bonus they might offr* which are possible clients/location i can think they would tag me to * possible work-life balance and travel ? @vviikkrraamm: Just seeing this. You being outside the UK, not sure how the final round will be communicated but i can only assume that it will be remotely as you guessed. Perhaps Accenture might be willing to fly you down depending on your location? Cant really say.For Negotiation, there is no harm in doing so...if only for the sake of satisfying yourself for trying but HR are usually inflexible. At times i wonder what would have happened if i had stood my ground on what i wanted to earn. But don't we all have that bit of "what if" in our lives ? :)The biggest clients are a certain "red brand" that claim to hand over "power to you" & another who is owned by some dude rich enough to pay Usain bolt for his TV campaign adverts. I'm currently working at the former. If you have telecoms experience and want to stick to that sector, there is a good chance you would be with one of the two.Your joining location i would expect would be the one you specified i believe. I'm a family man as well and live in close proximity enough to do 3 nights out of 5 working days at home. Other 2 i stay back to do the almost unavoidable long hours and to ease up on the driving to and fro.Hopefully this helps. @TheGovernor: Its been alright so far. There's always the good and the bad side to most things but currently i'd like to think the good outweighs the bad so cant complain too much. Learning new stuff, Long hours, facing clients and talking about ish you know nothing about lol....the usual i think people would say. Overall no regrets though. I however doubt i'd do more than 3 years max before i up and leave. No particular reason; just always been part of the plan i.e. consulting = tick in the box...not a career point to settle down at
Hi kyjuanSorry replying on your joining email thread as I couldnot reply on ur oldthreads related to interview process ( some webpage errors).Anyways , I been following you up on this forum as Im also from telecom backgroundand being interview for communication and media BSS/OSS consultant role.Im having 9.5 yrs of exp , mixed of Business Analysis ,Solution Designing and Support/testing domain of BSS/OSS. can you plz help me on below points ;-* Im just through 1st round ( result awaited , would b positive hopefully) , what kind of case study will be there in next round ?
thanks for your response kyjuan.do they have any training agenda for exp hire after joining , how was your exp ?
You would normally have compulsory training that you would need to go through from time to time as this will be part of your FY curriculum. From my experience, learning system alerts you when its time to get on these.

Thanks for sharing kyjuanI got a recent offer with ACN and will start in January, first time in UK, as you are family man can you kindly advise what is the best way to maintain the travelling work while bringing teh family with me? i.e if I will be based in London, what are good places for family to live safly while I can either commute to London or leave them 5 days in a project somewhere? I am too worry about that so any advise how to manage work life with ACN with family would help. living in London would be highly expensive as my offer is on 47K ..Thanks again for sharing some ideas
