What do new partners in big 4 take home, out of interest.

Would also be interested to know this. There is the much quoted £800K average for a Deloitte partner, but what do the newbie equity partners take home...?

About 200k base + bonus. Bonus likely to be sub 100k in year one. Rises quickly - more levels of partner than there are at all lower grades combined. The average figure quoted above is about correct, but obviously most partners make it by mid to late 30s and then have 20 years as a partner, so lots of variance in earnings between junior/senior partners.

I'm in the wrong part of consulting I think...

That tends to be how it works within the big 4 pyramid.

it's like in industry, everyone's a director these days.i recently met a freelancer who refers to himself as the "CEO" and he wasn't being tongue-in-cheek either

Are EY hiring directors from other big 4 direct to partners? Good strategy?
