Hi All,Got an assessment centre coming up with Capgemini. Just wondering whether anyone has any up-to-date tips? Perhaps in regards to the case study and/or interview? In terms of the case study, it's essentially tailored as a brief for a colleague to bring them up to date with some of the key issues and potential revenue streams before a meeting with the client.I have teased out most of the key areas of discussion (I think!) but was looking for any tips on how to impress them with my presentation? How would some you guys typically approach this in your roles (especially some of the younger analysts on here)?Appreciate any input.Cheers.

It's never about the answer. It's always about the approach.

If it's a 2 hour presentation, then the normal consultancy format is as follows:First 5 mins - Senior partner waffles on about the firmSecond 5 mins - Senior partner goes through "housekeeping" and where the loos are, make sure you turn off phones, etc and builds an excellent rapport with the audienceNext 5 mins - Senior partner summarises all the exciting points and gives the presentation in 5 mins in an exciting and engaging formatNext 1 hour 45 mins - Junior consultant is left to deliver the same 5 minute presentation but to take 1 hour 45 minutes doing it. Typically at this point some roadworks will start up outside and the catering people will come in to start noisily clearing the cups of tea and biscuits away. A few people, now with bladders full of tea and coffee from the pre-meeting mingle, will also decide they need to use the loo, so that it looks like a mass exodus. Then, after the presentation, feedback forms are issued with questions such as "On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being terrible and 5 being below average, how would you rate little Johnny's presentation?"

Approach vs Answer....If the question is what's 3-cubed? If you guess the answer is nine but can't show your working out, you fail. If you can prove that the answer is "elephant" you'll get in.

would you also get in if you can "prove" that the answer is 9? :)Just like me colleague who insists that "through" is spelt as "thru" and "though" is spelt as "tho". I think she's visited too many McDonald's cafes.

Proving 'Elephant' will certainly get you in. Answering 9 is a bit iffy - never fix a clients problem completely, it's bad for future business.

Yeah, tell them it "all depends" and that we need to think about how we can think more strategically about this issue
