Morning all,Just a quick question in the hope that you can either save me some wasted time or offer some reason for optimism:I have been invited to interview by a top-tier consultancy, which is great. However, the CV which got me this far pretty much glosses over my A-level results entirely, on the basis that they're not really worth bragging about. My question is this: will my A-levels innevitably come back to haunt me, regardless of how 'impresed' they are by my subsequent experiences?(I left Uni a few years ago, so I'd like to believe that my A-level results have been diisplaced by undergrad, postgrad and work experience, but who knows... !)Grateful for any insight.

Hmmm...not only do you gloss over your A Level results but you are glossing over the kind of firm too...'top tier' is relative.Anyway...that they have invited you to an interview based on a CV with 'glossed over' A Level results dictates they probably don't care - or else they would want to confirm those before interview.Unless you have somehow slipped through the net for a strat house interview, in which case it will all end suddenly.Personally I think beyond a couple of years post graduation they don't mean anything anyway.

From what I've seen, at grad level, they quite often count at large firms that care about these things. For anything experienced hire badged then they don't.If you've been invited for an interview, however, unless you've outright lied on your app form/CV about your results then they've obviously decided they're okay with that otherwise you'd have been screened out already. They aren't going to waste time interviewing you to then ask about your a-level results and kick you out (I'd have thought)...

If this is experienced hire, they will not care. Your degree and work experience will speak for itself. If you're going for a grad role, it's a different story.

Depends on how experienced. At my former firm it would have been used as a filter up to senior consultant level. We had had past problems with people who turned out just not to be that bright and a collection of A Level grades is in some ways a better filter than the simple hurdle of a 2.1, 2.2 or whatever unless you can really focus on the institution and subject.
