Hi guys,I was asked at a Consulting interview to present a list of things I would do on a 3 month horizon from the moment I joined the firm.Does anybody have a structured response on this for future reference? or the key points to highlight? Thanks

Depends on what level you would be joining, and if you can tie it all in to some awareness/knowledge of the current situation within the business (ie why they have hired you in the first place) so much the better. In summary though these things always have 3 points:Move out of inertia - get something moving towards a 3 month goal.Build speed/volume in that moving thing.Topline collaboration opportunities - detail briefly how you can/will add value to adjacent business areas and your senior colleagues.

If you want to display insight into the world of consultancy, I'd suggest....1. I'd hope my current skills would be enough to get me on a billable project position, but no doubt there would be parts if that job that I would not be up to speed on. Priority one would be to do some studying to cover off those gaps.2. Second thing I'd do is work out what skills and experience I have that I might be able to share with other consultants - perhaps organise an after works session in the office where I could talk about my previous role with one if our clients.3. Third activity would be to read up on our wider capabilities and try and establish contact with some peers in those teams. That way if there are opportunities for the firm to cross sell, I'm more likely to recognise them and know who to go to for advice on qualifying them.

Don't forget the all-important one of:"I will give you a brain dump of everything I know about your competitors and I will set up meetings with as many of my ex-clients as possible so that you can get to know them".

This is quite common. Even presidents and prime ministers have this "100-day report card". Use them as an example, a template, on how you structure your answer.
