Hi guys, long time reader, first time poster.Hoping for some advice on Capita Consulting, as I have recently received an offer from them.I was all set up to take the job, but a conversation with my current line manager about their status etc has given me second thoughts. Whilst I know to take his comments with a pinch of salt as he wants me to stay, as I have never worked with Capita in the past, I am unsure if there is any truth to his points.Has anyone worked with them in the past? What is the industry viewpoint of them as a company? What are the exit opportunities, both within and outside consulting?Contextual information- 3.5 years experience at a leading SI (started through graduate scheme)- Would be moving into HR Transformation team, with a 22% pay increase, with the promise of leading my own workstream Any advice offered is greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Well if you want to establish if there are any truths to the points made by your line manager we need to know what those points are!

Left after 5 months.YMMV of course - they're hardly cream of the crop though if you're currently with a "leading" SI company!

Sorry Mars, should have been explicit. In short, insulting their name within the industry, saying that the exit opportunities will be poor, largely seen as a body shopping firm and other points of that nature. Is that a fair reflection?Currently it sounds like this could be a good short-mid term move, but I am looking to ensure that this will not hinder my progression mid-long term. Thanks

Take the money and the bump in role. Do at least 18 months, if you don't like it your current employer (or a similar competitor) will most likely have you back, but at a slight salary improvement over the Capita level you have attained by then. The value of your current employers name is not going to disappear from your CV overnight.Exit options are all very well, but money talks.

Heh heh, Mr Cool straight after the money as always. He is quite right, money DOES talk!"Opportunities" and "experiences" do matter, but not as much as making sure you get the DO$H.
