I have been offered a position at two of the Big 4 firms, but one job is to do tax consulting (and work towards ATT/CTA qualifications), and the other is to do audit (ACA). The tax role is within a specific function to do with advising multinational organisations re. personal tax for their employees. The advice I have been given so far is that the ACA will give me broader opportunities when qualified, whereas joining such a specific sector within tax could restrict my options in the future. However, when it comes to comparing the day to day role, the tax job appeals to me more. Any advice would be much appreciated.
