Just been reading through some new comments in the staff suggestions box. One of them says we should get a Convertible Mini Cooper that can be used as a "pool" car for staff to use in the evenings, at weekends, during holidays and so on. What a brilliant idea, I love it! Not sure how the booking system would work in practice, but am planning to get one of the secretaries to work out a system and will put the proposal to the other partners next week. It never fails to make me smile, these wacky and wonderful ideas that people come up with!

Funny how the lowly staff who suggested the idea may never to get to use the car once it arrives.

I would hope that the pooling scheme can be designed so that everybody gets an equal chance to use it... the idea being that the junior staff in particular would benefit from itI agree its a bit of a girls car, probably one of the ladies that suggested it! but hopefully will be fun for everyone and the male consultants will like to use it too (assuming I manage to get the go-ahead) :)

Why don't you just contract your junior staff out to foxtons at the weekend. You make a few quid on them and they get to drive a mini. Everyone's a winner!

Well I think those who want to use it would be able to:1) Senior staff will have their high quality cars, Mini Cooper simply cannot come close2) Men at all levels won't want to be seen in Mini-Cooper convertible as it is the equivalent of driving a tube of lip-stick....So that leaves the remaining young, junior women to drive....I give that car 2 weeks before it's in the repair shop.....

Apply some of that Lean thinking Bushy.Buy a Cat C write off Mini, cover it in vomit, makeup, furry toys stuck in the aircon vents and dent appropriately. Put sticker next to petrol cap saying something suitable saucy.Announce that pool car has been test driven by the HR Consulting team and is now ready for use.Expensive, difficult to manage scheme killed off and everyone is happy.
