Hi, I just got an offer from infosys. I had friends refer me and they like their experience with them but have read some negative opinions on infosys online. I currently work as an analyst at a bank and don't really like the work. My background is in analytics and I'm hoping for more opportunities for analytics at infosys. My official title will be business consultant. I have no background in IT. The offer is in Chicago for about the same amount of money I make at the bank but in buffalo ny so overall taking a small paycut. I really hate buffalo so moving to Chicago is a big draw for me. But I want to make sure infosys is a fit for me. Anyone have experience with them? My main worries is having less of a work life balance and potentially being asked to do IT things when I have no background in that area. Also, just worried about some of the negative things I've heard.

The experience of friends is a lot more useful than anonymous online whining. I'm sure like all firms, Infosys has its negatives. However the move seems to offer you what you really value.Grab the opportunity, work hard, if it turns out not to be the perfect move, it will be a lot easier to get a promotion to another consulting firm, once established in the sector and based in a major city.
