Hi allIs anyone able to recommend some consulting recruitment agencies in London? And comment on what the state of the London market is at the moment?By way of background, I'm a 29-year-old Australian (with dual UK citizenship) currently finishing a full-time Master of Applied Finance degree here in Sydney. Previously, I was an M&A / Corporate Finance lawyer here for 4 years at a top tier firm, and have undergraduate degrees in law (Honours 1) and public communication. While I'm interested in investment banking, management consulting (in corporate finance) has more appeal to me at this stage, but I really don't have a strong idea of what my value is or what level I should be targeting. From my own research, an entry level core consultant role would seem to be the best fit. But again, this is somewhat uninformed.Any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance

You're in luck! A dose of insomnia means I'm up at this time of the morning and can answer on all counts :-)For recommended recruitment firms, please see our annual recruitment channel survey. This ranks recruitment firms in UK and is based on survey responses each year from ~1,000 of our readers:http://www.top-consultant.com/Top-Consultant_2013_Recruitment_Channel_Report.pdfSimilarly, our bi-annual salary survey has just been published in the last days - you can download a copy from:http://www.top-consultant.com/top-consultant_2013_salary_report.pdfAs regards the state of the market, hiring activity has picked up very noticeably in the last 3 months and certainly Financial Services consulting has been one of the drivers of hiring activity. So potentially great timing! You'd need to speak to one of the recommended recruiters though to get a feel for how much demand there'd be for your specific skill set. I wouldn't normally expect firms to hire someone with 4 years' prior experience into an entry-level role, so you'd want to establish what the experienced hires options are that are open to you.One other resource to point you towards - if you haven't found it already - is our Definitive Guide to UK Consulting Firms. It's a free download from:http://news.top-consultant.com/guide_to_consulting_firms.aspxHope all the above proves helpful and good luckTony RestellFounder, http://www.Top-Consultant.com and http://www.Social-Hire.com
