Hi After some advice/guidance.After 8 years in the British Army (graded in top 10% of peers) I joined a start up company where I currently run Strategy and Development. The company is doing well but there seems to be little idea where and how I will fit in the long term. Having worked with clients such as BCG/Oliver Wyman and some smaller consultancies I have decided that I would like to move into a small consultancy, ideally with a slant towards strategy.I do not have the academics/knowledge to aim at the top tier as I knew I was joining the army at University so got a desmond albeit from a good uni. I have also been accepted onto a MSc programme at LSE. However what I am looking for is a small/boutique consultancy where I can learn and really develop business/consultancy expertise. I am a very strong communicator and have a logical/big picture thought process but I have a genuine desire to learn and be developed. If anyone has any advice or ideas for companies that might be worth looking at that would be much appreciated. Thanks

Well, at least you didn't ask for "advise" like they usually do.There seems to be a lot of confusion in your post. For instance:- You "don't have the academics" vs. "MSc at LSE"- "Want a new job" vs "about to start an MSc"- Name-dropping of BCG/Oliver Wyman vs. wanting to join a small consultancy- Strong communicator vs a few sentences in your post that need to be read about 10 times to be successfully parsed- High achiever, big picture person, top 10%, running Strategy & Development, working for a successful company vs. not sure how you fit inIt's all just a bit muddled really. I'd suggest that you:a) decide what you wantb) articulate it clearly and unambiguously (no seeming contradictions)c) decide a plan for getting itd) stick to the planAnswering the "raw" component of your question, however, I think there is a Top-Consultant guide to consultancy firms somewhere on this site which will give you a very good starting point
