Hi everyone! As part of the fulfillment requirements for the degree of BBA I'm writing a thesis on developing a blue ocean strategy. For this thesis I'm currently researching if management consulting is a useful, or even necessary service. I'm also looking for the main criticisms on management consultans and ways to improve the service. To do so I created a small survey on this topic. Please, you are sounding like somebody from the public sector, trying to make judgements as to whether something provided in a free market is "useful" or not!Here is the answer to your thesis:"There is a market for MC services. Therefore it is valued."And that is all, comrade!

Not sure you will get a good response from the questions you ask. Probably a good idea to rethink the detail of the question you are working on, what you need to know the answer to and then who should be answering your question. Who knows how balanced the views of a series of management consultants will be about whether their serviced is overvalued or necessary or even both, but it could well be a skewed sample. You should also insert questions on what sort of work people are responsible for, level of experience to help with this. Back to the drawing board and hopefully you can get a better mark unfortunately

Accenture alone had revenues of $27bn last year. I'd say there's quite a few people who deem it necessary. In reality some of the stuff MCs do is overvalued but there's no denying some of the value that's been delivered by some projects too. Not a great question really.
