Hi,Most of my 9+ years of work ex has been in Middle East in HR consulting with Big 4 firms but I think I am done with Middle East and wish to move out and very keen to work in UK. I know that there are tons of consulting opportunities available in UK but then the way I see it, there are abundant experienced Europeans available as well especially in the area of HR consulting. So two questions:-1) is there any hope for a person like me i.e. should I be applying to UK consulting firms?2) what about the HSMP program- would investing in that help me in making the move?Shall appreciate any advice on the above. cheers!

I would personally suggest you request an internal transfer to the London office of the Big 4 firm you work for (assuming you still do). An existing employer is far more likely to be willing to support you in getting the necessary visa than a potential employer. Outside of Financial Services consulting (where there's a skills shortage) a potential employer will simply be inclined to look at the array of strong candidates they have where there is no visa issue to contend with.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com
