I must admit at first I thought some of your posts were trolling BEP! Maybe they were?! But I now very much enjoy reading your contributions - even the unhelpful ones.Good insight and a cynicism for big business that would make even ZB proud. Keep it up, BEP, keep it up.

I must admit, when I first found this forum, I thought it was fairly dry and transactional (i.e. only typically used for recruitment/career decision-making points), without much of a community vibe going. It only took me a few searches to realise that the same cynical characters kept popping up, with good humour thrown around, and that my first impression had been wrong. I'm glad I bookmarked it and came back ;)
All,Could anyone shed some light on the levels in Deloitte Tech and Management Consulting? Also what are the average salaries and maternity leave policy? Thanks
There are levels (more than a few, in fact several), there is an average salary and there is a maternity leave policy. It strain credulity that you would need more information on which to base important decisions...damn it you are a management consultant - make it up and sell it!

I ask, to make an informed decision. I am at ACN with 12 yrs experience so aiming to understand what level in ACN maps to deloitte.Having spoken to HR and 2 discussions (with Partner and SM) later, I am yet to get a clear understanding of the level/grade of the role I am being interviewed for.Any insight will be appreciated. :)

When interviewing at a big4 firm, especially DelBoys, you can work out what grade they are interviewing you for as long as you calculate that it will be...One grade lower than your years of experience merit,Two grades lower than your impending promotion,One grade higher than the interviewer is authorised to recommend,Two grades higher than they currently have any client demand for,One grade higher than any of their current openings,Two grades further away from partner than they claim,One grade higher than the maximum grade to qualify for overtime,Two grades lower than your current junior colleague will be offered next monthOne grade higher than the grade at which "up or out" starts,Two grades lower than you can affordThat seems a fair summary of what I've read on this forum over the last five years....

...and the mystery continues. They feedback has been all very positive from them but they seem to be passing the buck to each other as the decision maker. I've been told, they are putting up a business case together to make an offer. The other thing is: I haven't been part of any Assessment Centre exercise nor have they mentioned anything about it. Isn't that a mandatory last step in the process before an offer is put on the table?

I had a similar question about an impending offer from the same firm. NO assessment centre, no plans for one - I checked with both the Partner I interviewed with, and my recruitment contact there.Similarly, I've no idea what level they're considering my application for (SC vs. M - I feel that my level of experience and current salary are on par with the latter, but have no big 4 consulting experience, just highly (very highly) relevant industry experience in each of the specific sectors/clients they're targetting). So we're both in the same boat. In fact, if I was my recruitment contact, I may have thought the original poster here was me :O

Oh, also, for the avoidance of any doubt... my recruitment process has been

Informal chat with Director
Formal HR telephone screen (~20 mins)
Formal interview telephone screen with partner (originally planned a F2F but logistics on their side weren't working, so they proceeded with a call instead)
The last point is where the Partner confirmed (twice) that they wouldn't require me to attend an AC. Following up with my recruitment contact via email there confirmed it.A new approach by the green dot?

Glad I am not alone :D I am being interviewed for Consulting - FS. My process so far as been: 1. Call from HR and brief discussion. (This was a call to Accenture switchboard )2. Informal 1 hour F2F conversation with the Partner. Partner concluding with the a 2 min pitch asking me to join.3. Formal 1 hour F2F conversation with the SM who works with the partner.4. HR call to confirm an offer will be coming shortly.Let's see how it goes and what is offered (SC vs M). Hoping it's M.All the best!

If it helps, there's a default ~7k difference between SC and M.

An update: Received a call from HR, I've been told, I am being considered for a M role within the Financial Services/Tech Consulting space for a niche, rare skill. I have 12 yrs relevant exp.Question: Any clue on the median salary and the upper range within the line of service for Managers? Is 80K (30% jump from my current) base salary a fair ask?
