Hey, I would appreciate a bit of advice on the above. To cut a long story short I spent three years in consulting (Big 4) before moving to Corporate Finance (another Big 4, three years) where I have worked in Transaction Services and more recently Lead Advisory. (c. 1year, now a Senior Manager). I've had enough of the Big 4 and am looking at moving towards banking as the financial side of things interests me the most and I figure I might as well chase and cash and move before I get too long in the tooth (currently 29). Can anyone recommend a good recruiter I can speak to re: this? I appreciate this is a consulting forum but assume there must be someone on here that has made the move to commercial banking (i.e. looking at structured finance, origination teams, maybe workout advisory roles). Thanks in advance, much appreciated. Cons

I know this is not strictly what you asked for but...When I worked in IBD quite a few of the associates had worked in Big4 then went to a good b-School (LBS/Insead). Your profile would seem to fit this path, if you were interested. Perhaps you are not interested in IBD but the areas you mentioned seemed quite like investment banking to me.

Cons this is a well trodden path. What I would advise though is that you will struggle in the current market - there are simply too many experienced industry people on the edge of the market at the moment. Recruiters of any description will struggle to sell you into the household names because of this. Where you may have more success in the short term is to approach boutiques directly - with the market picking up they are not seen as the noah's ark they were even 6 months ago, so the traffic is going back towards the slots open in the bigger firms, leaving holes in the boutique firms (some of which are absolutely top drawer incidentally).
