Can anyone recommend a book for a graduate, who is going to apply for strategy consultancy and management consultancy positions? I want a book which will provide example client problems, solution etc- one which is ideal for a graduate (with no experience in consultancy)?

Check out the McKinsey Way, the McKinsey Mind and the McKinsey Engagement. Quite fluffy and common sensical but should provide you with a decent enough introduction.

'Bullshit Sells' by A.C. Onsultant

The whole of "The Bluffer's Guide to..." series, but only if you're keen. Otherwise get "Buzzword Bingo".
