If people want to gring their axes where is the problem? Yes the constant moaning about PA Consulting or whoever else can be tiresome, but for every thread which starts with someone grinding an axe usually others will come to the defence of the firm in question, offer advice, or at least make some comments which - intended to be humourous - offer some light relief. I cannot see the harm if people want to air their frustrations anonymously and with the intention of getting some support/feedback/advice. I read the usual threads about XYZ firms and of course there are issues with every single one: people attack ACN, PA, EY and MBB is the holy grail, only for the next thread to complain that MBB pays less than IB, the hours are brutal etc. Everyone will grind an axe at some point, no matter how experienced, senior or seemingly happy they are with where they are. It does not dictate that this forum has gone into decline in some way - it's a virtual water cooler conversation, down the pub b1tching session, career and mentoring session, whatever you need it to be.As useful as it is to be able to seek and give advice on this forum, that is only one aspect if it. It's an open conversation and as such, within parameters of decent behaviour, people should feel free - and safe -to talk about whatever it is (in the insular world of MC) which is affecting them, good or bad.If you look back over this forum you will see threads where even the usual partisan lines are abandoned for something more important. ZB likes to attack ACN and IT Consultants, and in turn gets it in the neck from them. Pirlo and Hard Hat used to give good advice but would also join in the juvenile fun. Etc etc. Then when TR's son was diagnosed with serious illness, the usual nonsense stopped as we all voiced our support - as adults - before resuming the usual mix of nonsense, p1ss takes, advice and general moaning. Much like my household, and yours too I expect LL.I know where you are coming from - I just think that its better to let everyone contribute what they will, how they will, on the understanding that - being largely decent, career minded people - the important things get addressed amidst all the joking, axe grinding and Rakesh baiting. Now where did I park my sleigh...?The anonymity is essential: people will not feel free to comment openly if they have to register even if that registration is under a pseudonym. Tony and the others at TC have addressed this recurring issue in other threads.
