My employer makes us work a half day on Christmas eve, but you cant work from home. The period between Christmas and New Years is mandatory holiday unless you are on chargeable work.So much for the Christmas spirit

So much for the christmas spirit?Your employer is giving you a half day off and is closing down shop for the festive period. Where you going to do a full day on the 24th and work the days in between xmas and new years? Who is getting into the spirit now.Or, were you expecting to sit at home for four days doing eff all and your employer to pay for it? Get a grip.

Wow !! The corporate cheerleader is really on overdrive today. PA wasn't even mentioned and it gets jumped on.The rumours are true - you are allowed a half day on Dec 24th, but you cannot be trusted to work from home. Also, if you choose not to take holidays between Christmas and New Years and want to work on internal stuff or sales (if we ever get some), then you can't do this. Instead, you have to work during your holidays. What adds insult to injury is that PA get a miserly 23 days, compared to anything up to 30 in IBM or ACN, so by deducting 4 days the partners really have us over a barrelMerry Christmas Mr Middo
