OK, I've had enough of this lousy £1,250/day consultancy lark. I'm never gonna get rich on that, even if I build up a pyramid of people below me.Consultancy = Process mapping, clients who don't appreciate you, being treated like a dogsbody.Trading = Being paid to play computer games all day, except your 'score' of 32,345,432 at the top of your screen is actually your salary. Ker-ching!So, trading is where the money's at.However, have any of you guys got any specifics of how much different types of entry level trader with different levels of experience typically earn? Thanks!

Guys being laying dormant for a while after a stint in Russia working a metals customer. If you the math, the cumulative revenue generated by process mapping is in fact higher that paper trading profits. And even if it were not, the benefits of process mapping are shared more equally across more people whilst only a few traders really make it rich.

what do you define as rich?also, is it better to be rich now and twiddle your thumbs for the rest of your life or earn a decent salary (like you metion - 1,250 per day) and live a decent life in the long run?as much as the former appeals to me, I can say that those who have made enourmous sums of money in a short time have seen there lives change not necessarily for the best. Divorce, cheating, drugs, alcohol, gambling, going broke etc. On the other hand, the ones earning a good whack (e.g. 80k, i.e. without being filthy rich) seem to be living a decent lifestyle - stable relationships, kids, holidays, sense of financial responsibility etc.

Assuming we're talking about trading at a bank, most people aren't earnng 7 figure sums. The range of earnings is far hIgher in trading than other areas like m&a but you'll find a lot f people earning in the £120-300k category after a few years of experience.Nice work if you can get it and you're good!
