Hi all,I am currently an Associate Director (employed) with 15 years of what I feel is eclectic consulting experience. I have reached the point in my career (and life generally) that I’d like to explore more of a freelance / contracting work structure (going upwards from AD will mean more selling – I’d prefer the delivering). My fear is that my eclectic experience is, in fact, too eclectic and that Clients who engage a contracting model would prefer a subject matter expert. I have a reasonable breadth of sector experience having worked across Central UK gov, local authorities, water, rail, highways, defence, education and predominantly involved in business improvement projects, operating models / org design, process design, change management, programme management and the like (all non-IT).Is the contracting world alive and buoyant? Do Clients only buy subject matter experts with extensive sector specific knowledge, or does a wider breadth of sector and project experience provoke any form in interest to Clients.Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks,D
