Pete dragging yourself into something you are not actually interested in won't get you very far; night classes etc are ok but rather limited as most people there will be looking to get a qualification, learn a language or whatever and will be taking it quite seriously given their investment of money and time. Accept the fact that the weekday evenings you won't do much except watch TV, go the gym whatever and make the most of your w/e; there must be dry slopes for your snowboarding etc in your area? An interest is not going to come to you - I get the sense you want something social, to meet people, and that is not going to happen at your flat (unless you are hiring them by the hour), so you have to get out there and do something, even if it means travelling a bit.
