There are various routes into IBM as a graduate, does anyone have any experience of advice regarding the below schemes, e.g. which schemes would made it easier for me to joing another company or consultancy in the future or give me the most marketable experience n money. I'd like something that will give me IT and Business experience. These 3 routes are technology roles although IT Consultant and IT Specalist seem similarIT ConsultantsPre-Sales SpecialistIT SpecialistThese 3 are Business rolesProject ManagementBusiness DevelopmentBusiness Operations SpecialistsSoftware DevelopmentFinancial ConsultingPhysical Asset Management Consultant (another term for supply chain)

The answer is, of course, it depends on what you want to do...The IT Specialist is really in-depth technical stuff. This ain't consulting, it's IT!IT consultant is as it says on the box. These guys work with "Business" consultants to design the IT side (e.g. IT architecture) of a solution or proposal Pre-Sales - These are Sales people. It is part of the Sales organisation not consulting organisation...The others seem fairly self-explanatory and (except Software Dev) resemble consulting roles.

Thanks for your replyWould the IT Specialist route be suitable for someone without an IT related degree? Is that a purely techie role?Which one would keep my options open the most?

Re entry requirements - sorry don't know guess it will be on IBM site (I never joined through this route)Re what is the more open option, I'm not being funny but, it depends...Sales skills are transfereableProj Man is transferable as is Financial ConsultantIT techie programming is less so but it would put you in good stead if this is what you wanted to do...So the real question is what do you want to do? And yes IT specialist is a proper techie coder / programmer teche job as i understand it!
