If it is anything like the one I did at my interview, it will be a 45 mins case study where you are given an article containing facts and figures and you will be asked to provide advise/consult using the information in hand. Not bad really just take your time reading through the info and only use facts

Did they give you any information on what it was to be about? Look on their website, there might be a quick intro. I did one for deloitte and their website told me it was going to be about a bookshop, so I did some research into SWOT etc for bookshops. Luckily come the day it was all pretty straight forwards and I could pretty much crowbar ¾ of the work I did beforehand into the answer/recommendations.

Hello charlatans! Along similar lines, I've been thinking about becoming a brain surgeon. So, I have brushed up on a bit of biology and managed to shoehorn some stuff I found on the web about brain surgery into my application form. Pretty much the same approach when you liberal arts majors apply for MC jobs really. Fingers crossed!

One thing's for sure, it provides us with a definite answer to the question raised on thread 45866.

Doing any of these quals with the Big 4 would be good, doesn't matter too much which. ACA is more widely respected, mainly as that the one the Big 4 trainees do the most. Generally, the course content between the three is much of a muchness. However, typically CIMA is done in industry and ACCA in small accounting firms and the public sector. It's not so much that ACA is a more difficult or more relevant qual but generally ACA candidates are of a higher calibre.

I went through this as an experienced hire at PwC about 6months ago.All it is trying to test is whether you can take multiple sources of information (emails, newspaper articles etc...) and write a short report which has a sensible structure. All the content you need is provided in the pack, just make sure you have a logical structure to your report - a beginning, a middle and an end.
