Hi there,I have an interview with McK's BTO office (London) coming up and just wanted to know what to expect. In a recent thread, the process was summarised as follows:"My understanding is that you will go thru 2 x 45 minute case studies which have an IT flavour, and a 70 minute multiple choice test which probes your quants, analysis and business acumen via a series of caselets. Your interviewers will also be assessing your interpersonal skills/leadership ability/teamworking skills/client-facing skills etc."Does anyone know if this is broadly representative of a typical BTO interview?

At BA level, the interview is exactly the same as for generalists.

That sounds about right. Although, there is a further round, which involves another three interviews, each case study based. Although they have an IT flavour, there is still an expectation for cadidates to be commercially astute and be aware of industry trends, be able to leverage practices and processes from other industries and adopt them accordingly (i.e check-in processes borrowed from Hotel industry being applied to Hospitals etc.)Best of luck

I recently completed this process and it is quite difficult. The 70 min 35 question exam is a real pain in the a*s…. However I noticed infact that the exam questions are based on case study's from example case interviews from all the top strategy firm websites (eg ATK, BCG, BAIN, McK). If I were you I'd down load all of the example case study's and at least learn the format, maybe even the answers if your really keen…As for the case interviews.. Read the Mckinsey Way, use the MECE diagrams, and ask insightful q's… Practice doing wild numbers in your head..SCUD
