Hi guysI’ve just started a new assignment where a former strategy house (recently bought out by one of the big4) has devised the strategy for a public sector organisation. My job is now to implement the strategy but the problem is I’m not sure if it’s me who doesn’t understand the document or it is really that elementary. For example, they have defined 8 policies one of which is accessibility. To explain the policy of accessibility they have literally written the following “affordibiity, connectivity”. Now don’t get me wrong they have also also included what looks like a clip art of an unlocked padlock but my predicament is that I don’t understand the policy in enough granularity to be able to even begin to put it into action. Furthermore, there are no kpis for the policy, and the kpis for the programs in the strategy are seemingly complete rubbish plus there is no way of telling which programs aid which policy. What are the aims of the policy, what are the aims of the programs, what are the aim of the projects, how are they related, how do we measure ? I’ve never done this wok before but it seems to me like there should be meaningful kpis (not just complete the project!) at each level. I’ve been scratching my head over this for the past week or so and just want to know if anyone has any thoughts on how to begin to approach this ? Am I thinking correctly or am I looking into this completely wrong ?
