people here will get a bit funny with grammar / spelling as if its some kinda deliverable... i dont think a book will harm your chances, in fact if it proves your expertise in a relevant field then you build that credibility right away

I think Smithy's point was a reflection on where you are:-No consulting portfolio means little credibility in consulting.Inability to string a few words together with correct spelling does not bode well for writing a book either :-)50 Shades of Consulting might make an interesting read though ! "If I write a bestselling song on iTunes will it get me clients?"....If you aren't getting clients due to a lack of a portfolio, then a book wont solve that. Also lol @ the idea that you can just write a "bestselling book on amazon" - if you have the time and energy to write a book how about redirecting that energy into building contacts and putting together feasible propositions.

Will it GET you customers? Not a chance. Will it enable you to create expert, and if executed well join the discussion going ahead in your objective client's brain, and help separate you from every other person? Indeed. Dan Kennedy has a book about the energy of being a book writer. It's called Book the Business. I have a printed copy and have made utilization of it. At TCE, we work with a specialist couple who are genuine makers of smash hit Amazon authors...and I don't mean some BS insignificant blip on a few people's radar "I was a success for a day" gibberish. I mean life span. Books that stay on the highest priority on the rundown for a long time. The methodologies they instruct are not quite the same as some other "I'll make you a success" mentor I've experienced. So it's not just about having a book and having that gleaming blockbuster sticker.
