Hi, I am thinking of applying for management consultancy positions with focus on a specific industry sector (according to my experience, e.g., life science/chemicals practice). I am afraid I am too old for top-tier or even second tier houses that recruit preferentially graduates or young PhDs (my profile: 34y, PhD, industry experience in project management-Lean Sigma Black Belt-/operational line role with three direct reports): what is your view about senior hires? Is industrial experience valuable for a consultancy job or do consultancy houses want only "fresh" unexperienced candidates?
