Hi, can you advise how it looks in terms of working hours at Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, KPMG?I mean - are you paid for extra hours? If not are you entilted to get some additional holidays for extra hours? And in general share some experience about it... Thx a lot!

Paid overtime? Never, that went a long time ago. Accenture do the most hours on average, the rest are marginally better.

You certainly get paid overtime at Accenture in the U.S. There is a certain number of hours you must work to get extra money for overtime, but it is extremely common on projects.

Is that monday to friday, or do you have to do saturdays as well, how many hours in an average week and how would you compare the number of hours you do with a smaller company like SMT Consulting

If you're entering consulting expecting a 40 hour week, you're going to be very disappointed. At the very least, I'd plan on being in the office from 9am-7pm most days, and potentially much later if you're working on a client project. While you won't be working every weekend (this isn't banking, after all...), you may have to work the occasional weekend.Hours are pretty much the same at all the big players, although you'll definitely work longer hours in one of the strat houses than you will in the big operational consultancies.

I work 8:30-5:30 (occasionally late to about 8pm) mon-fri at SMT COnsulting but remunerations are not comparable to big strat houses so weigh up what is important for you money or time

Depends on the client you're working with at Acn.I'm 9-6 in one client and others in other industries/clients do far longer.
