Would love the forum's thoughts:Opportunity: Currently a Snr Mgr in a big 4 consulting firm and there is an opportunity to join a top performing partner to build a major account. The partner is very much taking me under his wing and I trust him to help me build my career. This is no doubt this is an opportunity to move into far more of BD role that can carve a path up to director / partner.Challenge: It's in an industry that I don't have a great deal of experience in and not that excited about. He wants me because he says me as the right type of person with the right way of thinking to lead the account into the future. However, most of my recent consulting career has been focusing in and specialising in FS and I certainly have become a go to person for delivery and SME knowledge.Considerations: Current division isn't growing much (not because of the market, but because of the partners) however I'm still in demand across the firm so being busy is not a problem. Unfortunately, this also translates into a limited pathway to move up. Therefore, I can continue working in an industry I enjoy, but may get stuck in terms of progression. Moving into another division is an option and consider this an just another choice. What are your thoughts? What would you do and what are the key considerations to making this decision?
