Hello, all you strategists and far-sighted intellectuals out there.I have missed out on many a trend in my days. Way too many to count. But, now I see another trend emerging: digital currencies such as BitCoin. There are many of them about. It might be a fad, it might not. But either way, there may be money to be made here. What do you think of these digital currencies? Is there an opportunity there for us early birds?

BEP,Bit late to get on the BTC bandwagon, early birds were like 2009/2010. Maybe 2011.There are others, e.g. litecoin, feathercoin, dogecoin, etc. But the best is..... camster_coin - lol.Seriously, it is rather easy to set up your own virtual currency, as the 'framework' is already in place, it's not re-inventing the wheel.E.g. for BTC, it went from CPus to GPUs (graphic cards) to ASICs. Meaning, you could mine with your PC at first, then, you had to use graphic cards, then now, there are thumb drives specifically created to do BTC mining. Litecoin mining is a bit different, without going into details, which you're probably bored off by now - lol.The way I see it, a virtual currency that is geared towards the online wagering or gambling market has the potential to do really well.

Scottish Pound? They wont be able to mint their own, so should be a rare commodity. Rare as a Scotsman in Las Vegas even.

Er... Do you ever follow the news on your smart 4G phones? Bitcoin exchanges are closing down all over the place due to massive currency thefts, leading to 100% loss to bitcoin holders at those exchanges. It's a huge exposure...

Huh? BTC price is back up above $700. Edit: It's a classic bubble though, so be careful. Only one exchange closed. OThers will pick up the slack. But from 400+ to 700-ish in 1-2 weeks? Classic bubble. I expect it to settle around 770. But.... not worth it now. About 10% yield only. Comparing with other opportunities, not worth it from opportunity cost PoV.

Yeah, but what's the trade price for the people who were storing at the exchange that closed?

I'm sure there is an opportunity for making money here.Where there is uncertainty and controversy, there is opportunity. How we can use this digital currency thing to our advantage?
