Hi I am in the process of applying for a senior software developer position at Cap Gemini.I am living outside London and if I get the job will be based at a local CG office in the north.I know as a consultant you are expected to travel but how much travel are we talking about?Say for instance we have a project in London and it will last a year, does it mean that I will be in London Mon - Fri for the duration of that project? Is there are any way of going there not every day of the week but only 1-2 days and rest of the week work from the local city? Thanks

Hi,This largely depends on the client and your project manager. If you end up on a "secure" client (govt, defense, critical infra etc), expect to be required to be at their office or a Cap location that meets their infosec standards at least 4 days a week - not much room for flexibility if this is the case.If you end up on a more "normal" client, then it'll depend on their expectations and how your project manager expects you to work. If you're colocated in a client office and are required to be visible and available for meetings, then you'll have to be there, if you're a remote resource then I guess you'll be able to work where you like (home, office, trendy coffee shop..)Hope this helps. Good luck.
