It has been a while since a critical thread on BAS. Whats going on - has it improved?

I suspect this one's been done to death. Readers have realised there are a few people disgruntled with the place but that that's not representative of the business as a whole.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

Any discussion of EY on this board gets quashed. They spend too much on advertising here in order for there to be any open discussion

Peter - sorry to disappoint, but if you spend any time on the forum you'll know there are frank discussions about the firms that advertise on this site all the time. E&Y included. A few comments do get removed where they are just downright nasty about someone - or can be shown to be fake postings. But by and large most discussion here is left untouched.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

I have heard that BAS is going through enormous turmoil and that all potential applicants should avoid them like the plague

Utter drivel on both counts. We are constantly fighting against the need to display posters' details alongside their posts (ie. an end to anonymity) - but it's just this sort of unsubstantiated rubbish that puts this forum community in jeopardy.Try sticking to constructive comment about things you're qualified to talk about - rather than the spreading of hearsay? The latter doesn't help anyone make an informed decision.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

I think it has simply become fashionable to criticise BAS; people seem to have short memories and selective hearing - they may be struggling a bit in gaining traction in the market but then many of the big players have gone through rough periods and come out the other end. BAS, PA, Capgemini are a few cases here hiring freezes, low utilisation in some practices etc have coloured the view of the whole. BAS are hiring and people want to work there full stop. As for Molten I understand they have made hires fairly recently, but are much like BAH in their hiring model - its a bit ecclectic, and we don't see too many people slinging mud at BAH on this forum.I am talking with consultants all the time from across the consulting spectrum, and most find something to complain about with their firms. Let's put the whole BAS thing to bed - there is nothing new being said on the matter, and no real insights.
