I want to consult in FS... I know McKinsey's has a huge front office client base, PA has a bit of an inadequate attempt at a middle office team, and Deloitte are trying very hard to develop a FS BPO profile.... but where would I be best of looking for true Middle and Back Office consulting, covering Shared Services, BPO, BPR etc? Any ideas?(and before anyone lays into me for my ignorance, I have been working in an investment bank in New York for 3 years and I want to come home- only to discover that I can no longer eat black pudding, work in offices without aircon, or understand the British consulting market)

With a negative attitude like that towards respected consultancies, no wonder you're struggling to find a job. Why not stay in NY, if no one in the UK can meet your exacting standards? You can whine with all the other pommies over there.

That's a bit harsh you knw - give Becky a few days to get used to our quaint English ways again - even we have the odd moan from time-to-time!

I do alot of work in this space and whilst I am biased the consultancies in competing are McKinsey, trying to move into more Ops type work, Capco, MA Partners and Deloitte. Suggest you look at each of these. UK market for each of these is different to US

Becky - I was in a similar situation to you 3 months ago. I applied to a number of agencies that advertise on this site including Woodhurst and BLT who had some good opportunities. Also I applied to Druid IB who specialise in Financial Services Consulting Recruitment. If you drop your Cv to these three companies you can't go wrong. All 3 were very professional, unlike some other agencies that I dealt with....
