I have just been offered 33k Euros total annual salary from a IT consultancy. I have 3 years of experience. Is this salary normal or low? should I say yes...? please help me on this guys...

Well, I think you need to say where it is, and what job it is for. Otherwise it is impossibel to say:It would certainly be low for almost any job in the UK, but then we don't use euros in the UK.It would be low for almost any job in Ireland.Perhaps it wouldn't be for an sys admin in Portugal.

It is in Spain. The job is for Project Manager and the company is Deloitte.

Well, I know nothing about average salaries in Spain but it certainly seems low. It is about the same as our new graduates get in Deloitte in the UK (in audit - consulting is the same number in pounds so quite a bit more). Perhaps you could find out what the Spanish graduate salary is (is it on the website? No hablo espanol mi amigo...) and make an appropriate adjustment for your experience?

It depends on what the role is - "IT consultancy" can cover anything from oursourcing admin to strategy, and the sector focus can also make a difference. European salaries for all professional services are generally much lower than in London - the rule of thumb of "just change the pound sign to a euro sign" also applies to more senior consulting roles that I have looked at in the past.The principal factor in determining whether a salary is relatively "high" or "low" is the comparison to your current salary. i.e. an uplift of any more than about 10% of your current salary should be enough to bring you across if you are genuinely interested in the role and not just the money.

Dear Pat,Deloitte's starting salary in Spain is 21K (euros).Every year the mean increase in salary is around 20%-30%. This would be in 3 years time (for a Consultant Level 1) between 30.240 and 35.490 euros.The pay in Deloitte Spain is marginally higher than any other of the Big Four in Spain. However, it depends a lot on whom do you know. There's a lot of jumping from one place to the other.Do let me know if you need any more information.Regards.

Hi Pat!Is this 33 netto?Moreover i was confused with the 3 years experience and project management?Is it possible in Spain to become project manager with only 3 years experience starting from zero???I am asking u cause if it is netto and u just count 3 years of experience from zero, then it is ok.......in any other case it is definitely low

My numbers were brutto, by the way. Counting extra pay in summer and xmas.
